I work at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute in the laboratory of Dr. Adam Godzik in the bioinformatics and systems biology program.

Some of my research interests are:
+ comparative and evolutionary functional genomics
    + evolution of regulatory pathways, particularly those involved in development and defense, such as apoptosis and innate immunity
    + evolution of protein architectures and protein structures
    + ancestral genome/proteome reconstruction and analysis
    + evolution of complexity
+ automated sequence function prediction
+ molecular evolution and phylogenetic inference
+ software and algorithm development, data visualization, semantic web
+ combining computational biology with experimental molecular biology
